Title: can't find the words to write this song
Author: shtiglitz
Fandom: Gossip Girl
Pairing: Dan/Blair
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~20K
Summary: "Waldorf, what do you want? It's 4am over here." Season 5 speculation.

I must confess:  I watched Gossip Girl from season 2 to 4 in (almost) one go a while, and really liked it. Especially the Dan/Blair thing that was going on during season 4 (before the show really went to that direction in season 5). Dan has never been my favorite character, but he really grew on me in the last season. Part of it was as shallow as that his actor has become more attractive to me (but who can watch Gossip Girl and say the main idea is not to watch good-looking people walk around?).

Can't find the words to write this song, is an amazing story of Dan and Blair. It starts right where season 4 ended and goes from there. I fell in love with this Dan and his relationship with Blair. shtiglitz's interpretation is naturally different from season 5 and I must say that it's a gorgeous alternative. The writing is wonderful, and I adore what the author did with this story. ♥

Excerpt

"Blair Waldorf," Ashley says, rustling her paper noisily. Dan stops at the name, lets his book fall to the ground. "Didn't Serena mention being friends with her once? It says in here she's actually getting married to a real life prince." She turns to him. "Do you know her?"

"Yeah, she's my..." My what, he sneers at himself. "I went to school with her," he says instead.

Ashley shakes her head in disbelief. "I can't believe some of the people you're friends with."

He doesn't answer; instead closes his eyes, focuses on breathing, in and out.

The heat is driving him insane.

Title: Haven
Author: this_is_kelly
Fandom: Merlin (BBC)
Pairing: Merlin/Arthur
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: ~69,000
Summary: A house is just Shelter, but a home is Haven. Merlin and Arthur have been together for nearly five years and now the time has come to answer the question: Do they want to extend their family beyond themselves? As they enter the world of adoption and raising children, they realize that parenting might just be the hardest job they've ever had. Sequel to Shelter.

Haven is a sequel to Shelter, a wonderful non-magic, modern-au fic that tells the story of how these Arthur and Merlin meet, fall in love and what the beginning of their relationship is like. Haven is continuation to that: how Arthur and Merlin adopt and what kind of parents they are. (I urge you to read Shelter before reading this, but I think Haven also works in its own.)

The story is sweet, but it also shows a real relationship with its ups and shows. In a long-term relationships everything cannot be perfect for forever, sometimes there's times when you hit a rough patch. I just loved how author described Arthur and Merlin's relationship, they are so in love and wonderful. The kids are their own individuals, and  I just ♥ this story. The writing is good, the characters lovely and overall Haven is an enjoyable read. I recommend this to everyone who wants to read something long that is quarantined to make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

Title:
These Walls Stand Silent
Author: celestineangel
Fandom: Harry Potter
Character(s): James Sirius Potter, Rose Weasley, Scorpius Malfoy, Lily Luna Potter, OCs
Rating: NC-17 (for violence)
Word Count: 21,600
Warning(s): OCs, insanity, torture, mental and emotional manipulation, violence Character death, incest, etc., etc…
Summary: It was all in the name of tolerance. It was all in the name of understanding. It was not supposed to happen this way.

This is one of the best dark!fics I have read in a long time. The writing, the structure (so clever & good) and the plot all work together in an amazing way, and the subtle hints about what will happen are fantastic. The characters are well-developed and interesting, and the story just blows my mind. This one will stay with me for days.

Excerpt

It begins in innocence, and, as so much does, in the past.

Not everyone forgets, you see, not everyone learns to let live, to let bygones be, to watch the water flow under the bridge and no further. Even those who think they do only think so, unable to see the dam for the trickle that leaks through.
